Zaki Angling For Wigan Deal
Egyptian star Amr Zaki has reportedly stated his intention to try and secure a permanent contract with Wigan, despite interest from some of Europe's elite clubs.
The Egypt international has been on fire for Wigan this season, and is currently the Premier League's top scorer with an astonishing seven goals in eight matches - a remarkable achievement for his first spell in English football.
Zaki's fine form at the JJB has started rumours that a number of Europe's top clubs are queuing up for his signature. Despite the reported interest from clubs such as Liverpool and Real Madrid, Zaki has spoken of hi desire to stay at the JJB.
Zaki is currently on a one-year loan deal at Wigan, and Wigan manager Steve Bruce has the opportunity to sign Zaki on a permanent deal, which he is currently trying to negotiate with his parent club Zamalek of Egypt.
The player's price tag is going up by the game as managers, players and fans are beginning to realise what an effective player Zaki is, and Liverpool boss Rafa Benitez has admitted that he is just one of the manager's chasing the 25-year-old striker.
Speaking to The Sun, Zaki reiterated his desire to stay at Wigan, "My aim here is to score goals and help the team.
"I hope that helps to earn me a permanent deal because I want to stay in the Premier League."
